As preppers, We all know that when the major SHTF scenario does come that the world is suddenly going to become an even more dangerous place than it is now.

So, it’s a given that we’re going to have to be able to defend ourselves. We can always resort to the number one personal protection weapon of course, namely firearms, and while these offer excellent protection (and definitely should be included in your defense plans), they do have a couple of drawbacks in a SHTF situation:

• They’re noisy. When there’s lots of people around who can do you harm you might not want to draw attention to yourself
• Supplies of ammunition are going to get scarce quickly

So it’s a really good idea to include alternative weapons as well, not just for defense, but for hunting as well, and the primary class of alternative weapon has to be the bow.
